Carl Janelli Quintet
Now residing and playing on the west coast jazz veteran Carl Janelli has made his career as a versatile professional saxophonist in New York City. Being a first call musician in the Big Apple Janelli has played in all the great halls in that city including the Paramount Theater, Basin Street East and Birdland. His Broadway credits include “Hello Dolly”, “How To Succeed in Business” and “Grease”, and has performed with many of the legends of big band jazz - Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, and Johnny Richards to name just three. He has performed in orchestras put together for Peggy Lee, Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra. Performing this evening in a quintet setting with trumpeter Brad Curran, Janelli will stretch out on a variety of tunes as only a seasoned practitioner of the jazz language can.
